Helping Rescue Dogs Find Their Forever Homes

About Our Rescue

Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming companion animals for over twenty years. What started as a small foster-based rescue in Dayton, focused on purebred puppy mill releases and owner surrenders, has grown into a multi-city effort, and now includes the PUPP Prison Dog Training Program and partnerships with shelters across the State of Ohio to help save hundreds of dogs each year. Contrary to our name, we rescue dogs of all breeds, mixes, shapes, and sizes! We provide standard vetting for them while they are in our care - all of our dogs are fixed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, and microchipped before they are placed in adoptive homes.

Programs

Our rescue operates two primary programs - our foster-based rescue program and our prison dog training program. All of our dogs either live at individual foster homes or they are in training at London Correctional Institution. We do not have a dedicated facility for housing our dogs and do not utilize boarding facilities for long-term care of the dogs in our rescue.

Adoptions

We have adoptable dogs of all breeds, genders, and sizes, and will work with you to determine which dog will be the best fit for your family. Please take a look at our available dogs and submit an application if you would like to meet one of them. We must have an application on file in order to schedule a private meet-and-greet, outside of our public events.
